چکیده
The ability to predict the resistance of reinforced concrete (RC) structures progressive collapse as a result an interior column removal has become need in structural design. In general, three mechanisms characterize structure collapse, flexural action, compressive arch and tension catenary action. objective this study is investigate effects floor system configurations on collapse-resistance RC frame sub-assemblages amount energy dissipated each mechanism. This investigation employs fiber element-based modeling technique present findings into beam size reinforcement details dissipation beam-column with four equal spans. Three different span lengths 5, 6, 7 m were considered. A total 38 designs for gravity loads performed accordance ACI 318-14 design code. employed was validated utilized by authors previously published works. shows that presence slab are critical they significantly affect failure pattern sub-assemblage frames. Moreover, found increase around 28%.

Investigation of the Progressive Collapse Potential in Steel Buildings with Composite Floor System
Abnormal loads due to natural events, implementation errors and some other issues can lead to occurrence of progressive collapse in structures. Most of the past researches consist of 2- Dimensional (2D) models of steel frames without consideration of the floor system effects, which reduces the accuracy of the modeling. While employing a 3-Dimensional (3D) model and modeling the concrete slab sy...
متن کاملEffect of Structural Height on the Location of Key Element in Progressive Collapse of RC Structures
After the failure of an element in a structure, its loads should be redistributed on the other elements and the structure must provide some new paths to carry the load. If such new load paths are not provided, collapse progression will begin in the structure. As the beginning of progressive collapse in a structure is more sensitive to the missing of an element, the location of that element is m...

This study investigates the effect of different link beam lengths in the Reinforced Concrete (RC) frame retrofitted with the Linked Column Frame (LCF) system. It also investigates the ratio of the link beam length (e) to the span length of the RC frame (L) from 0 to 1.5 for the 9 models of the RC frame retrofitted by the LCF system has been investigated. In addition, it studies the formation of...
متن کاملEffect of Initial Local Failure Type on Steel Braced Frame Buildings against Progressive Collapse
In many studies, the alternative load path method (APM) has been used for progressive collapse analysis. In this method, one or several columns of the building are removed and the building response is investigated. This method ignores the initial local failure cause of building and this can affect the structural response. Investigation of ignoring the initial local failure cause of steel braced...
